For Sweden’s national charity event Musikhjälpen (Music Aid), student station RadioLUR ran a 24-hour live fundraising marathon. Powered by Radio.co, the broadcast streamed seamlessly online alongside FM and live TV, helping deliver a record-breaking year for the charity.
Musikhjälpen is a major national fundraising campaign in Sweden, supported by events across the country.
At Linnaeus University, student station RadioLUR committed to running a 24-hour live broadcast from a campus café to raise funds for the year’s theme: “children are not for sale.”
The challenge:
There was no margin for technical failure. The stream needed to run continuously and reliably.
Radio.co powered the internet radio component of the event, providing the stability and ease of use required for a live charity marathon.
The platform enabled:
The student team could focus on content, interviews, and fundraising — confident the stream would remain stable.
Despite minor on-site challenges, the live broadcast ran smoothly from start to finish.
Key outcomes:
The partnership demonstrated that accessible online radio infrastructure can support high-pressure, professional-grade live events — even when led by students.
